Modern smartphones have reached the peak of their development in the current form factor. The pace is growing and smartphone interfaces will not be able to cover the needs that will appear in the near future.
Don't distract, but complement.
Seeing information on the screen is no longer enough, it’s distracting.
The modern approach is not to distract from reality, but to complement it.
One of the ways a smartphone can augment reality is through sound.
For example, using a voice assistant, you don't necessarily have to divert your attention to the smartphone screen. By using sound, you can find out what time your favorite cafe is open, how to get home faster, what you need to buy at the store on the way home, or when your meeting with colleagues is scheduled.
Therefore, when developing this concept, the focus was on sound, through which we will enhance reality and with which people can interact.

Audio system. You will hear and be heard.
A system of 4 microphones directed in different directions will allow you to hear your voice regardless of which side you are speaking from. Moreover, thanks to the omnidirectional microphone system, the device understands which side the interlocutors or obstacles are located in order to accurately direct the sound to the one who needs to hear it. This smartphone is aided by a system of 5 speakers, which are also located on different sides of the device in order to provide high quality sound or to accurately direct the sound towards the user, regardless of their position.
Audio channel
A design feature of the smartphone is the “audio channel”, which is formed along the entire side edge of the device.
Due to this channel, sound is better distributed in all directions. Even if some edges are blocked.
The modern smartphone form factor is outdated, the Kotloyul-01 concept is an attempt to increase the attractiveness of existing smartphones in the near future.
